Prof. Cho Ju-young, Bundang CHA General Hospital (CHAMC)’s gastrointestinal internal medicine joined in publishing ‘Endoscopic Submucosal Dissection, Principles and Practice’ issued from Springer, the world’s No. 1 publisher in global medical science as a co-author.
‘Endoscopic Submucosal Dissection, Principles and Practice’ is the first English book, all-inclusive from endoscopic submucosal dissection and follow-up care of patients. A total of 48 experts from the U.S., Europe and Japan including Professor Cho took part in writing the book, which is considered to set a standard for fast-developing endoscopic treatment of early gastric cancer.
“There is growing interest in endoscopic treatment of early gastric cancer as results of research are published that the long-term performance of endoscopic submucosal dissection on early gastric cancer is all but gastric resection surgery. Against this backdrop, the guidance with title of Endoscopic Submucosal Dissection, Principles and Practice is significant in that it is the first all-inclusive one,” said Prof. Cho Ju-young, Bundang CHA General Hospital (CHAMC)’s gastrointestinal internal medicine.
Meanwhile, endoscopic submucosal dissection was introduced into Korea by Prof. Cho in 2000, and it has been common as much as about 280 hospitals are undergoing. Prof. Cho is in the lead to enhance the level of endoscopic treatment though ‘severity evaluation of stomach cancer’ with other health care institutions and experts in endoscopic treatment.
