Kia Motors released a seven-seater Carnival model in Korea, targeting the domestic high-end van customers. The car maker, which has been exporting the seven-seat model to the United States, made available only two models—nine-seat and 11-seat vehicles—in the domestic market.
The domestic demand for the nine-seat model was high since it is exempted from excise tax and education tax and it is allowed to drive on bus-only lanes on expressways if more than six persons are on board.
However, as the niche demand for high-end vans grows in recent days, Kia Motors decided to market seven-seaters in domestic market.
Kia Motors held a special event on March 30 to celebrate the domestic marketing of its 2015 All New Carnival.
The newly released seat-seat model “Carnival Limousine” adopts elegant interior design, thereby distinguishing itself from existing nine- and 11-seat models. In particular, the second row is appointed with the VIP lounge seat. The seven-seat model has a three-row seat design, boasting wider space compared to nine- and 11-seat models which have a four-row seat design.
