Kia Motors unveiled its brand-new sedan K5 at the 2015 Shanghai Motor Show which opened on April 20 at China’s Shanghai Convention Center. The car maker also launched the official sales of its large premium sedan K9 in China, declaring its plan to make bigger forays into China’s large sedan market.
A Kia Motors official said, “The K5 features the combination of a sporty emotion with elegant and dynamic image. The K9 is a large premium sedan built on Kia’s state-of-the-art technologies. It will bring about a new wind of change in China’s large sedan market.”
Dongfeng Yueda Kia, a Chinese unit of Kia Motors, said that if the current pace of growth is maintained until the end of this year, it will be able to achieve its annual sales goal of 745,000 units without any problem.
Kia Motors plans to launch the sales of the new K5 in China within the second half of this year, aimed at boosting its competitiveness in China’s mid-sized sedan market.
