Rotary International Club has a history of 110 years and connects 1.2 million members from more than 200 countries and geographical areas. Among which, Korean Rotary Club has the third largest membership in the world with 64,000 members and is ranked fourth in terms of the contribution to the Rotary Foundation.
International Rotary Club, a service organization that is funded by Bill Gates, the founder of Microsoft (MS) with 70 million USD per year, plans to form partnership with Bill Gates for a project to offer service to mankind by providing Polio vaccines and eradicate ALS.
Dr. Cho Sung-kap, guest professor of Korea University who has been elected as the first president of IT Angels Rotary Club (former president of Incheon Information Service), shared his vision in a statement as saying "I am overwhelmed to have been elected as the first president of the world's first IT Angels Rotary Club in the history. I will inherit the volunteer spirit from Bill Gates, the IT giant in order to become the world renowned IT service organization that is constituted by Korean IT experts reaching out to the world.”
On one side, the worldwide famous Rotarians are Gerald Ford, the major US former presidents such as John F. Kennedy, Ronald Reagan, and George Bush, Vatican Pope Francis, UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, and Dankook University Chairman Jang Chung-sik.
