Dozens have been reported dead following the 7.3-magnitude earthquake

A massive landslide has been filmed in Nepal after a 7.3-magnitude tremor hit the country just two weeks after a 7.8-magnitude earthquake caused destruction and thousands of deaths throughout the mountainous nation.

In the video released by the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, large rocks and debris can be seen falling from a mountainside and onto the town near Dhunche on Nepal’s border with China.

The landslide was triggered by an earthquake that hit Nepal on Tuesday morning at around 12:35 local time (6:50 GMT).

According to authorities, it caused buildings to collapse and a number of other landslides to occur in the area just west of Mount Everest. So far, the death toll from the latest earthquake stands at 62 with hundreds more thought to have been injured as a result of the tremor.

Reports said that people were still being pulled from the rubble and the death toll could rise.

The earthquake could be felt throughout Nepal including the country’s capital Kathmandu.

It also affected parts of Bangladesh and northern India where 17 people have so far been confirmed dead.

The latest earthquake is a massive setback for the Nepal as the the impoverished mountainous nation tries to rebuild following April’s tragic earthquake that killed more than 8000 people.

Since then, the country has been plagued by a number of aftershocks, including one that was measured as having a magnitude of 6.3.

Prime Minister Sushil Koirala called for “courage and patience” and urged all those who had assisted Nepal since the 25 April quake “to once again extend your helping hand”.
