The forthcoming visit to South Yorkshire, in the north of the England, by a leading Korean trade official could spur “a flood of new business deals with Asian countries,” the chief of the UK chapter of the International Network of Korean Entrepreneur said Tuesday.

Han Jung-hwa, chairman of the Small and Medium Business Administration of Korea, is set to head a 30-member delegation to South Yorkshire and tour the Advanced Manufacturing Research Center May 19.

Dabriel Choi, chairman of the British chapter of INKE, an international organization that helps Korean companies with export and import projects and global investment, helped arrange the visit.

“Korean businesses are interested in expanding into Europe so establishing links during this visit could result in Korean companies establishing a presence in Yorkshire. In addition, we can also assist UK businesses in expanding their market into South Korea,” he said.

“The Korean companies heading to Yorkshire are very connected to business networks and keen to gain a better understanding of the viability of the Yorkshire region. Global opportunities are growing rapidly for South Korean businesses and also in South Korea.” Others who helped facilitate the visit are the Rotherham Investment and Development Office, Rotherham Council, Sheffield University and business leaders in the area.
