Total IT Services

SK C&C is successfully implementing massive high-tech IT projects such as ITS, GIS, UIS and others

Since it was founded in 1991, SK C&C has contributed to enhancing national competitiveness and advancing Korea’s information technology by providing total IT services ranging from providing IT consulting to building and maintaining systems for all sectors. The company has, therefore, served all industries including finance, communications, energy and logistics services, as well as the public sector highlighted by e-government.

SK C&C is successfully implementing – for the central and local governments and financial institutions – massive high-tech IT projects, such as the intelligent traffic systems (ITS), geographic information systems (GIS), urban information systems (UIS), national security management systems, next-generation financial systems, and natural disaster recovery systems.

Global IT Service Leader

SK C&C won an order for a W100 billion (US$81 million) aviation and space project for Korea in 2008. The company will provide all IT services, including computing operations, for the country’s aviation and space industry for the next 10 years. Besides, SK C&C is providing IT-related outsourcing services to major facilities and agencies in the country, including the Seoul City General Disaster Prevention Center, Jeju International Free City Development Center, and Incheon International Airport.

SK C&C is developing key u-computing technologies to create new growth engines in various sectors, such as RFID, telematics, and home networks. The company will consolidate its status as a global IT service leader that provides new kinds of services for everybody to lead a happy life in a ubiquitous world.

Overseas Projects

SK C&C is seeking to make inroads into the American and European markets, as well as Central and Southeast Asian markets, to export e-government, financial, communications, and energy solutions and technologies. In this regard, the company won overseas orders worth US$105.9 million in 2008, a nearly 18-fold increase from US$5.9 million year-on-year. Since early this year, SK C&C has already won overseas orders worth about US$50 million.

SK C&C succeeded last year in advancing into the American market by winning an order for building a Mobile Money 2.0 Platform for Mobile Money Ventures, an American mobile financial service provider.

In April this year, SK C&C finished building a mobile financial service system for Khan Bank, Mongolia’s biggest bank and nationwide leader in innovative financial services. The Korean firm is currently implementing a US$76.5 million project to build an information technology services (ITS) system in Azerbaijan and a US$12 million project to build a similar system in Ulan Bator, Mongolia.

Besides, SK C&C is building a US$2.3 million early warning system for Indonesia. The firm, incidentally, paved the way for creating an IT Hallyu (Korean Wave) in Central Asia by successfully opening a postal service system worth US$5.6 million in Kazakhstan. Back in June, SK C&C signed a memorandum of understanding with Huawei, the world's leading mobile network equipment supplier in China, cooperating with communications projects.

Tomorrow City

SK C&C is now set to develop new business projects to take the lead in developing future u-city paradigms. Specifically, in cooperation with SK Telecom and SK E&C, SK C&C has recently built Tomorrow City, a u-city hands-on experience hall, in Songdo International City in Incheon to give visitors chances to touch and feel various aspects of a futuristic city.

In the second half of this year, too, SK C&C will proactively find new global markets by strengthening cooperation with major global IT firms based on its peerless IT services.
