The 2009 Korea-Africa Industry Cooperation Forum was held at the Renaissance Hotel on Sep. 9. Senior government officials from Kenya, Zambia, Ghana, and other countries attended the forum to discuss the bilateral industrial partnership with Korea.

Lee Yoon-ho, Minister of Knowledge Economy of Korea, said, "I hope that Korea and African countries make comprehensive cooperation with a long term view." After his address, he made a detailed presentation about cooperation plans for plants, energy fields, and distribution infrastructure such as roads, harbors and railroads.

At the forum, major African countries including Kenya and Ghana introduced a US$2.23 billion construction and plant project.

For individual industry sessions, the Korea National Oil Cooperation, Korea Gas Cooperation, Daewoo International Corporation, and many more companies attended the forum and discussed policy with African countries' representatives for future business and cooperation.
