The 2015 Global TransporTech, a Korean exhibition to publicize the superior quality of Korean-made automobile parts and components to international buyers, opened its curtain at Songdo Convensia in Incheon on June 4.
This year marked the ninth anniversary for this annual exhibition. This year’s event attracted 141 exhibitors and 222 buyer companies from 37 countries worldwide. The Korea Trade Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) said that the exhibition will be held until June 5.
Among foreign buyers who took part in the exhibition are a number of global car makers, including GM, Volkswagen and Audi, and a group of large retailers, including Continental, Bosch, and Magna.
During the trade show, as many as 122 global buyers each with annual sales of more than US$100 million will explore ways to promote cooperation with local automobile parts suppliers.
GM, for example, which makes transactions with more than 300 Korean companies, plans to make additional procurement of engines, power train and car frame parts, and components from Korea.
