Samsung Electronics registered a new trademark “S6 Note,” whose trademark application number is 40-2015-0042117.
On June 8, Samsung Electronics, together with Samsung C&T, made a joint application. The application is currently pending, clearing the way for Samsung Electronics to develop official products using this trademark.
The products classified to be eligible for this trademark include mobile phones, computers, tablets, digital cameras, 3D glasses, and mobile computers applied application programs.
Some market watchers expect the S6 Note to be Samsung’s next-generation product which would combine the key features of Galaxy S6 and Galaxy Note, including large screen and S pen function.
A Samsung official said, “It’s not confirmed yet whether the company will release any product which has a combined function of the Galaxy Note and the Galaxy S6.”
There are some others who expect the S6 Note to be a foldable phone which can be folded like a book. Samsung Display, which supplies display for Samsung Electronics, has indicated the coming of a new era when foldable display can be commercialized.
