LG Electronics joined hands with Google to launch a joint marketing effort for OLED TVs.
On June 22, LG Electronics held a ceremony to declare the “OLED TV digital marketing cooperation” with Google.
The two parties will focus marketing activities on the people who have higher potential for buying by using Google’s big data analysis capabilities.
Instead of promoting OLED TVs to unspecified masses, they will focus their promotional activities towards those who may have interest in high-priced OLED TVs. The marketing effort will target 100 million people around the world who have higher level of disposable income and care much about TV image quality.
In recent days, LG Electronics is strengthening mutual cooperation with Google. After LG Electronics released a Google operating system-based TV, together with its own operating system-mounted TV, Google upgraded its latest smartphone operating system Lollipop for LG Electronics earlier than Samsung Electronics. LG U+ also provides a set-top box G TV service where users can enjoy Google contents.
