Lee Bu-jin, president of Hotel Shilla, has visited China to promote tourism in Korea.

On June 30, she met the top management of the nation's biggest travel agencies, together with HDC Shilla Duty Free Shop presidents Yang Chang-hoon and Han In-kyu. The China Travel Service is a state-run travel agency with which the HDC Shilla Duty Free Shop signed a memorandum for sending Chinese tourists to Korea in May this year. The China Youth Travel Service, or CYTS Tours, is the third-oldest travel agency in China and one of the few travel agencies listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange.

The Hotel Shilla president also visited some of the officials of the China National Tourism Administration and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Beijing to explain the current MERS situation in Korea and asked them to encourage more Chinese public to visit Korea.

The co-presidents Yang Chang-hoon and Han In-kyu, who are also iPark Mall president and Hotel Shilla vice president, also said to China Travel Service president Xue Xiao-Gang, "The current MERS situation in Korea is getting better given the number of new patients is stand still. We hope you to come up with new travel packages for the summer months and encourage Chinese travelers to come back to Korea."
