Korean broadcast equipment manufacturers have opened a PR hall for Korean-style broadcast systems during the KES 2009 convention and exhibition period. They aim to raise public awareness of Korean-made broadcast equipment and lay the foundation for boosting exports by operating the PR hall.
They have been motivated by the belief that Korean broadcast equipment manufacturers will account for W50 billion (US$42.6 million) in the domestic market given the 15 percent procurement ratio of domestic broadcast equipment, despite the market size estimated at W350 billion (US$298 million) over the next five years.
The PR hall will consist of 40 booths, subdivided into such themes as terrestrial broadcasting systems, audio systems, and DMB and other equipment. The terrestrial broadcasting systems will comprise 20 booths operated by firms such as K2E, Jinmyung Communications, TVLogic, CIS Technology and Bronics Inforcom. The audio systems will be composed of 10 booths opened by Inter-m. And the DMB and other broadcast equipment systems will be made up of 10 booths operated by companies including KETI, Xeno and AR Vision.
