Sunye and Sohee of K-pop girl group ‘Wonder Girls’ will leave the team.
On the 20th, JYP Entertainment announced through a press released, “Sunye and Sohee, who have been part of Wonder Girls, have withdrawn from the team. Therefore, Wonder Girls will promote themselves with a four-member group (Yeeun, Yubin, Sunmi and Hyerim).”
The agency explained, “Along with the withdrawal, Sunye has terminated her contract with JYP in order to devote herself for her family. Sohee has decided to leave the group to focus on her individual career.”
It added, “(despite the withdrawal) Sunye and Sohee will continue to support the group for their preparation for the upcoming album. They will remain as a friend and continue to encourage each other.”
Followed by the official announcement, Sunye spoke through JYP Entertainment, “During the past times, I wasn’t fully responsible for my role as a leader and has shown my lacking points. Once again, I feel apologetic to our fans.”
She added, “As a mother of a child and a wife, I will live my life to the fullest.”
Sohee stated, “I noticed that many people were curious about my position as it’s been reported that Wonder Girls will be coming back. As of today, I am withdrawing from the team.” She added, “Since I’m lacking to call myself as an actress, I thought it wold me too greedy for me to take both roles as a singer and an actress.”
She continued, “From now on, I’ll support Wonder Girls as a fan. I will try my best to not disappoint my fans an an actress Ahn Sohee”.
Meanwhile, Wonder Girls will return as a four-member band in August.
