According to the Korea Automobile Importers and Distributors Association, compact SUV Mini achieved record-high monthly sales in July 2015.
Total sales of Mini last month marked 894 units, exceeding its previous monthly record (785 units) by 109 units.
In the first half of this year, the Mini was sold 3,653 units, up 44 percent from 2,533 units a year ago, becoming the seventh best-selling import car among the 22 import car brands registered in the KAIDA.
If the current sales pace continues toward the end of this year, the annual sales of the Mini could break the 7,000 mark this year for the first time in history. Since it was introduced first in Korea in 2005, the sales of the Mini have been on an upward trend, rising to 6,572 in 2014 from 6,301 in 2013, 5,927 in 2012, and 4,282 in 2011.
The Mini, in particular, has achieved rapid growth since 2011 when the four-door, four-wheel compact SUV Mini Countryman was introduced.
