China's Xiaomi is reviewing the launch into Laptop Computer Market.
Bloomberg reported on September 2 that the China's Xiaomi is considering the launch of its first premium laptop models by January or March next year, with components sourced from Samsung Electronics.
The report also said that the company has already discussed with Samsung Electronics for getting delivery of memory chips for the computers, with a possibility that it would get the delivery of display panels from the Korean electronic giant.
For Samsung, expanding its component business to supply Xiaomi will also boost Samsung's sales of its electronic parts business while at a time when the world's largest smartphone maker isn't selling as many of its Glaaxy S6 smartphone as it originally anticipated.
Meanwhile, Xiaomi may also enter the U.S. and India and a laptop adds to its portfolio of products to take on Apple. Currently Xiaomi sells a small number of accessories on its own online storefront in the U.S.
