The presidents of three Lotte Group companies, including Lotte Duty Free, Lotte Hotels & Resorts, and Lotte World Adventures, will visit China to promote tourism to Korea.
Lotte Duty Free, together with Lotte Hotels & Resorts and Lotte World Adventures, said on September 7 that they would hold the 2015 Lotte Travel Market China event in Shanghai on the 8th. Ahead of the Mid-Autumn Festival in late September and the National Day Golden Week holiday in early October, the companies will announce a series of benefits and events for group tourists from China.
The officials of the companies explained the heads of the three units got together to stage joint promotions as the number of Chinese visitors to Korea and sales to them have recovered to last year's level but fallen short of the former growth path. The three companies will also hold similar promotional activities in Japan (September 24-27) and Thailand (October 2-4). The companies set a target number of inbound foreign tourists at 6.0 million of which 4.5 million would be Chinese.
Lee Hong-gyun, president of Lotte Duty Free, said, "In order to revive the flagging tourism business of the nation, we planned roadshows touring the three Asian countries. By leveraging our own tourism assets, we will try hard to encourage the tourists to make repeat visits."
