Korea IT Times (www.koreaittimes.com) is Korea’s most reliable industry and technology oriented bilingual newspaper, dedicated to providing timely, accurate coverage of cutting-edge technology in ICT, as well as trends in the technology, science, and business sectors. It is available both as a daily online newspaper and as a monthly magazine.
All content in the Korea IT Times is syndicated to nearly 700 global media outlets, includingGoogle News (English) and Naver News (English and Korean). In addition, the Korea IT Times’ monthlyprinted edition is distributed to over 153 countries.
Korea IT Times has recently begun a new section called “Editor’s Pick,” in which we print an essay written by a middle or high school student. We believe this will be a welcome opportunity to distinguish a student’sCV, since, once published, our affiliation with Google News and Naver News will allow the students’ names and the title of their articles to show up as results on Google News and Naver News searches.
Since we are an industry and science/technology newspaper, the topics of the essays should revolve (loosely) around ideas concerning the economy, industry, science, or technology. Generally, I’ve found that the most interesting ones link these ideas to the society in which we live. However, if a student wishes to submit something unrelated to any of these topics, I would still encourage him or her do so. If it is interesting enough, we will absolutely consider it for publication.
There is no limit to the number of submissions a student can make; likewise, there is no limit to the number of articles we will print from any one student. Of course, submitting an essay does not guarantee that it will be printed. We reserve that right, and generally, we base our decisions on the essay’s content and readability.
All submissions should be in English, although we encourage Korean translations as well. By doing so, our affiliation with Naver News will allow the student’s name in Korean characters to also turn up in Korean-language searches.
The English submission should be roughly 800 words, give or take. (We are not terribly picky about the word length.) Submissions should be original work and in MS Word format. It should include the student’s name, grade, name of school, and a photo of the student.
Please direct your submissions email@example.com.
