Korea Armed Forces' Defense Security Command raided Hanwha group, one of Korea’s largest conglomerates, armed with a search warrant on Friday.
DSC reportedly caught that one employee of Hanwha violated Military Secret Protection Act recently. The details of the corresponding military secret, which is considered the second level, have not yet been identified.
Local media outlets said, it was found out that the confidential information was sent to Hanwha, a grenade maker, during the investigation into the recent grenade explosion accident in Daegu. The secret informant is said to be a high-ranking official of the army.
"Hanwha was raided after DSC was tipped off about the leaked confidential information," a person familiar with the matter said, adding that, "But, it has nothing to do with the grenade explosion in Daegu."
