Samsung Electronics said on Wednesday more than 60 leukemia victims asked for compensation in five day since the firm began to receive application.
They were former employees of Samsung Electronics, who used to work in the semiconductor and LCD areas and were diagnosed with leukemia and related diseases. Among them, five belongs to the family victim committee and another five applied for compensation through the committee.
Samsung Electronics said, "The compensation is decided by a committee comprising doctors, lawyers and certified labor attorneys through objective assessment," adding, "Compensation will be given as early as after Chuseok.”
