According to Yonhap news agency reports, 94 percent of South Koreans prefer to watch free video content with advertisements rather than paying for ad-free content.
A survey, conducted by entertainment company CJ E&M, also found that YouTube is the most visited platform by South Korean smartphone users (73.1%) followed by Naver (36.8%), Daum (31.9%), and Facebook (26.7%).
Some 20.7 percent of the respondents like to watch free videos on smartphones as they have less advertisements than on TV. The survey was conducted on 2,500 South Korean smartphone users aged 15 to 49.
