LG Electronics said on October 27 that it had filed a lawsuit against British manufacturer Dyson over an advertisement on October 12 in Australia.
In the advertisement rolled out in Australia, Dyson says its V6 cleaner is "the most powerful cordless vacuum" and boasts "twice the suction power of all cordless vacuums." LG Electronics claims that Dyson’s add is very misleading because the LG Cord Zero Cyking's suction power is twice as strong as the Dyson V6 Cordless Vacuum.
As a matter of fact, the LG Cord Zero Cyking provides 200 watts of maximum suction power, twice that (100 watts) of the Dyson V6.
To target the global high-end vacuum cleaner market, LG launched the flagship cordless cleaner in South Korea, China, France, Germany and Russia this year. The LG Cord Zero Cyking hit the Australian market in September.
The LG Cord Zero Cyking features LG's Smart Inverter Motor™ and LG Chem's lithium ion battery power pack. The LG Smart Inverter Motor is a BLDC (Brushless Direct Current) motor, developed independently by LG for its cordless cleaners. By using an electronic circuit board for the motor brush, it makes sure that the LG Cord Zero Cyking has a life span three times longer than that of other regular vacuum cleaners and stays highly efficient and powerful.
