Shin Hyang-sook, CEO of Apple & You (a Korean developer of e-commerce platforms), has been appointed as chairwoman of Korea Software Global Research Agency’s Board of Directors. Korea Software Global Research Agency (KSGRA) held an inaugural ceremony for the new chairman on November 9 in Yeoeuido-dong, Seoul
“Continued technical innovation in the Korean software industry is the key to successfully realizing the government’s creative economy vision. Korea Software Global Research Agency will work on multiple fronts to facilitate the development of the software industry in connection with the government’s nine strategic industries,” Shin said in her inaugural speech.
“KSGRA will also ponder ways to nurture Korean software into world-class products and serve as a private think tank for the software sector. In particular, we will take the lead in exporting IT powerhouse S. Korea’s excellent software to overseas markets,” Shin added.
Shin has continuously pledged her commitment to research on software differentiation policies, international software forum, software talent nurturing, software localization and promotion of a software culture.
Shin Hyang-sook, CEO of Apple & You and vice chairwoman of Korea Venture Business Women’s Association, has been viewed as a major contributor to the development of the nation’s software ecosystem. She also served as next-generation chairwoman of the ruling Saenuri Party’s Central Women’s Committee.
