The power supply (recharging) capacity of smartphone backup batteries is surveyed to be lower by up to 44 percent than the figures displayed on the surface of the products.
On December 14, the Korea Consumer Agency announced the result of its investigation of 16 smartphone backup batteries from ten companies, including those from Samsung Electronics, Xiaomi, and Sony.
Allo Korea’s large-capacity battery (allo2000A), for example, claims to have a recharging capacity of 10,400 mAh. However, after measuring it with the high rate discharge test, it turned out to have a recharging capacity of only 5,841 mAh.
In light of power supply (recharging) rate, the smartphone backup batteries from Samsung Electronics and Xiaomi showed the most outstanding performance.
Samsung’s large-capacity battery (EB-PN915BGK) and mid-capacity battery (EB-PG900B) showed an actual recharging capacity of 64 percent compared to the figures indicated on their surface, the highest among the surveyed items.
