The most current netbooks are usually cheap but low in performance. To solve the problem, the global PC company Acer launched their 2nd generation ultra-thin notebook on Novemver 6, 2009 called Ferrari One, using the Ferrai sports car design. Acer has been a partner with Ferrari for a long time and launched several Ferrai laptops since 2004. However, this is the first time for the company to launch a Ferrai netbook.

Ferrari is the epitome of luxury sports cars with power and speed. The Acer Ferrai One's biggest feature is the performance. It is the most powerful netbook currently available. Compared to current Yukon platform, Acer Ferrai One uses AMD's high performance 2nd generation Vision ultra-thin platform, which gives it high performance and a stable multi-tasking. The specification includes an AMD Athlon 64 X2 L310 dual core pocessor, 2 GB DDR2 800 Mhz memory, M780G chipset, and ATi Radeon HD 3200 graphic card, improving the performance of the netbook. It also has an 11.6-inch CrystalBrite LED-Backlit TFT LCD monitor with a 16:9 apect ratio, a 320 GB hard drive, and an ATi Radeon HD3200 graphics card, producing clear high-definition images on the monitor.

Another great feature of the Acer Ferrai One is its unique design. The netbook has an overall design that is reminiscent of a Ferrari sports car including the yellow Scudetto Ferrari logo, racing red cover, and 4 wheel design on the bottom surface. It also has the logo on the touchpad and a shortcut key that directly links to the Ferrai web site (www.ferrai.com). The Ferrai One netbook is the Acer's first netbook running the Windows 7 operating system, weighing 1.5 kg with a 6 cell battery. Acer provides 1 year global warranty for the product.

Bob Sen, managing director of Acer

"Ferrari is recognized as a world renowned sports car because the car is built by hands with great care from start to finish. Just like the image of the Ferrari sports car, Acer's Ferrari One will be considered the most renowned netbook with a beautiful design," said the managing director of Acer's North Ease Asia, Bob Sen. "The marketing strategy for the Korean market is to give more choices for consumers to experience netbooks, rather than taking market share. We want to be recognized as a global PC company by providing a variety of netbooks available for consumers."

The business manager of Acer, Steve HW Lee, said, "Until now all Ferrari laptops were released as limited editions. But we are planning to provide a high performance netbook to more people. The Ferrari One will be released to the market some time next week for approximate price of US$1,000."
