The court decided on Thursday in favor of Lee, who filed a suit for divorce against Lim, saying Lee has parental and fostering rights to her son, a second grader at elementary school.
The divorce case started in 2014 when president Lee filed for divorce, followed by six months of investigations alongside four times of interviews. Only legal proxy of the two attended the trial carried out on Thursday without the presence of Lee and Lim.
The marriage between a daughter of Samsung group and the rank-and-file worker in 1999, drew media spotlight and public attention.
