Sung Mun Electronics get international attention at AEES 2009

Shanghai - November 11 - At the Asian Electronics Expo Shanghai 2009 (AEES 2009) Jin Park of Sung Mun Electronics Co., Ltd. was enthusiastic.  "KEA did an excellent job to promote Korean companies by setting this stage.  It really did help us," he said.  He was referring to the whole Korea pavilion experience, which had given his booth a steady stream of visitors the entire day.  This reporter was only able to visit the booth in the late afternoon.

The company is making rotary DIP switches.  Normal DIP switches are simple on and off switches used to set essential options in electronic hardware.  They are adequate for what they do, but a problem pops up when you need to add too many options.  "If a company wants ten different positions, they need 10 normal DIP switches lined up in a row," said Mr. Park.  "But our rotary switches are good for a compact space."  One switch can give 4, 6, 8, 10, or 16 positions, which can save a large amount of space.

The company already does business with Samsung Air Conditioners, and is looking for a similar type of company in the Chinese market.  "There are many manufacturers in China, and no switches like this," said Mr. Park.  He is convinced that automation, security system, and telecom manufacturing companies need his products.

The company says about eighty percent of the booth visitors have been serious businessmen interested in the product.  There have been no formal offers yet, on the first day, but many inquiries, according to Mr. Park.  He is confident that the company will go away from the expo with a significant benefit.
