Daiso, a Korean version of the dollar store, will start selling the "Redmi 3" phone of Xiaomi Inc. at a super-low price of 99,000 won (US$82.32).
The Redmi 3 is a smartphone model launched by China's Xiaomi which is known as the best value phone. On January 12 when it was introduced first time in China, the first batch of the items was sold out within only 5 minutes.
According to Daiso on January 26, Phone Plus Co., a vending machine mobile phone seller, will sell 300 Redmi 3 phones at 99,000 won in each Daiso store from 12 noon on January 27 as part of a promotion ahead of the Lunar New Year's Day. The sale will be made exclusively through the vending machine within the Daiso store.
Anyone who purchases the phone doesn't need to make long-term commitment (typically three years for KT, SK, or LG U+ subscribers). At a low price of 13,5000 won a month, the subscriber can choose a plan that allows 750 megabytes data and 30 minutes of talk time. Current subscribers of all major mobile telecom services can take advantage of the offer.
