NPD Group Names Mark Turim President for Asia Pacific Region

The NPD Group, a leading market research company, has named Mark Turim president for the NPD businesses in the Asia Pacific region on November 11, 2009. He will report to Tom Lynch, NPD's Chief Operating Officer.

In his new role, Mark Turim will oversee all of NPD's Asian businesses including point-of-sale and consumer tracking businesses in Japan, China, and Australia in the foodservice, beauty, sports, toys, and video games categories.

Prior to this, Mark was Global Head of Operations and Chief Operating Officer for Ipsos ASI. He previously was Global Chief Operating Officer and CEO of Latin America for Research International. Before that, he was head of NPD's Chicago, Canada, and Mexico businesses. He has also held senior management positions at IRI, including responsibilities for businesses in Europe, Latin America, Asia, and Australia.

"His experience in the international arena will serve us well as NPD continues to grow our business in order to provide our clients with information and insights on a global scale. In addition to Mark's building the existing businesses in Asia, he will be working with the NPD businesses to take our tracking services to new countries."
