Samsung Electronics unveiled world's first breeze-free air-conditioner and a brand-new refrigerator that allows users to fine-tune the temperature of its storage compartments.
Samsung Electronics held a media day event for new air-conditioner and refrigerator models at Samsung D'light in Seoul's Gangnam on January 25. During the event, Samsung Electronics unveiled a breeze-free air-conditioner Q9500 which has a 135,000 tiny holes on its surface. Through these holes, a cool breeze blows out.
If one pushes the breeze-free button after operating the air-conditioner's breeze mode for 10 minutes, one can keep the room temperature unchanged for up to 4 hours.
In the breeze-free mode, the air-conditioner consumes 85 percent less electricity compared to the breeze mode. Coming in three sizes, 52.8 square meters, 58.5 square meters, and 81.8 square meters, the breeze-free air-conditioner has a retail price ranging from 2.29 million won to 5.79 million won.
