GMV 2009 was packed with buyers from all over the world interested in Korea's cutting-edge technology. Local companies were displaying their newest products, while global buyers walked from booth to booth to see which products or companies would help them in the future. Also, both parties came to this event in anticipation of a possible business deal with other companies. During GMV 2009, buyers from all over the world participated in hopes of finding that one product or company that will help their company grow.
One of the buyers present was Antonio Schuh, director of partnership development innovation for Telefonica. Telefonica is a telephone company based in Spain, but also operates in 25 different countries including Spain, the UK, Germany, Ireland, and all over Latin America. Their company has the 5th largest number of customers in the world, with about 262 million customers. There were 2 main objectives for attending GMV 2009. "First, we want to learn more about the Korean market, which is a benchmark for the latest technology," said Antonio Schuh. "Second, we were looking for specific companies that are reliable and have a good product." Mr. Shuch also commented, "At GMV 2009, I am impressed with the fact that lots of companies are trying to show their products, trying to do business, trying to be connected worldwide, and having a willingness to grow. This event is going to be a growing friendship between foreign companies and local suppliers."
British Telecomunica: India
Another buyer present was Rishikesh Kumar, head of presales at British Telecomunica (BT). BT is a European telephone company which has operations across the globe. He was interested in this event due to the fact Korea is a leading provider of the latest technology. BT is a global brand, the world's leading telephone company in the world, and the leading cutting edge solution provider across the globe. Mr. Kumar said, "GMV 2009 matched my expectations. It was absolutely great that both the buyers and sellers had expectations and that we were able to meet and talk to them personally."
RTL 102-5: Italy
Among the many buyers, there was an Italian buyer named Eugenio La Teana, Head of Research and Development for RTL 102-5. RTL 102-5 is a broadcasting company. He is here to take a look at TDNV in a country where they have breakthrough technology. He said, "I came to this event to see TDNV products to understand and share the same vision that some Korean companies have. I believe that Korean and Italy are similar in terms of work, and that they are intended to make business."
Barack Leshem, member of Pelephone, a mobile carrier company in Israel, came to GMV 2009 to check products on content solutions, content delivery, and content applications. "GMV 2009 was well organized and they put in a lot of effort into making us feel good. It was a great Korean experience for me."
Many products were displayed and many business deals were sealed at GMV 2009. Buyers from all over the world came and witnessed Korea's latest technology. The buyers came to this event with much anticipation and expectations and by the end of the event, were satisfied. Relationships and business deals were created at this event, and hopefully the relationship will continue to grow.
