According to MENAFN, Due mainly to the ongoing plunge in global demand, South Korea's outbound shipments of information communication technology (ICT) products dipped at the fastest pace in nearly seven years in Jan.
Based on the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy's data, exports of ICT products have declined 17.8 percent over the cited month to USD11.8 billion as opposed to the USD12.72 billion reported in 2015's January.
The logged mbers mark the biggest on-year fall since 2009 when it slipped 19.6pct upon the 2008 financial crisis, moreover, imports fell 15pct to USD6.7bn last year, with the country posting a surplus of USD5.07bn in this segment.
By region, deliveries to China and the European Union deteriorated 17.3 percent and 20.2 percent on-year, respectively, whereas those allocated for the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) rose 0.4 percent.
