North Korean defector and reporter, Seol Song Ah will be visiting Washington, D.C., for a series of public and private events and meetings.
Ms. Seol, who is currently a reporter with Daily NK, will be speaking in Washington, D.C. at the Georgetown Neighborhood Library on Monday, February 22nd, at 1:30pm, and also at the University of Virginia (UVA), on Tuesday, February 23rd, hosted by the UVA LiNK chapter.
In addition to these two public events, Ms. Seol will also visit and meet with NGO leaders in Washington, D.C. and in New York City; meet with members of the U.S. government, Congress, and the intelligence community; meet with the local media; and also have a private in-class session and meeting with an undergraduate political science class at Catholic University of America (CUA).
In these private meetings and visits, Ms. Seol will offer her unique insights as a defector and a reporter with connections inside North Korea with the latest news from within the country, and will share her views and thoughts regarding the latest provocations by the North Korean regime, and share her outlook for human rights in North Korea in 2016 as the two-year anniversary of the release of the report by the UN Commission of Inquiry (COI) on North Korean human rights is marked.
