Samsung Group said it is "reviewing" its employment plan of this year on Wednesday. The company said "It is not true" about the news report that "The size will go down 15 percent from the previous year."
Samsung is set to hire college graduates in the first half of this year from March. 14 and some market experts said it would not be easy to maintain 14,000 employees, the same number of last year.
This is because it sold Samsung SDI Chemical, Samsung Fine Chem and Samsung BP Chem to Lotte Group in October after selling its four subsidiaries including defense and chemistry business to Hanwha Group in 2014.
As its restructuring is still ongoing in some of its subsidiaries, the reduction of job opening will be inevitable, according to industry insiders.
"Although we are trying to maintain the volume of last year, the situation can be changed," Samsung said.
