On March 16, Hankook Tire, South Korea's biggest tiremaker, announced that it will exclusively supply tyres to the ADAC TCR Germany and the 2016 Italian Touring Car Championship. Hankook Tire said it will supply tyres to all cars competing in the ADAC TCR Germany series until 2018. The ADAC TCR Germany is run by the Allgemeiner Deutscher Automobil-Club (ADAC), Europe's largest motorists' association.
Along with the FIA World Touring Car Championship (WTCC), the ADAC TCR Series carries significant influence over the global touring car market.
Hankook Tire said: “The value of Hankook Tire’s premium brand, based on world-class technologies, has been recognized.”
Hankook Tire will supply its Ventus F200 and Z Z207. The Ventus F200 is a high-tech slick tire, which has excellent grip ability and continuous performance on a dry surface and enables high-speed driving (up to 300 km/h).
The Ventus Z 207, designed for racing cars, is an extremely reliable circuit tire for exclusive use on wet surfaces. It has also been supplied to the Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters (DTM).
Since the company developed Z 2000, South Korea’s first racing tyre, back in 1992, it has continued to expand its motorsport championship portfolio, which includes the DTM, the FIA Formula 3 European Championship, the Audi Sport TT Cup, the World Rally Championship (WRC), Formula DRIFT (or Formula D), CJ Super Race and Korea Speed Festival (KSF).
