Cumulative sales of KIA’s K-series cars hit the one million mark in six years in the US. Kia Motors said on April 17 that sales of its K-series cars --
the K3 (Forte), K5 (Optima), K7 (Cadenza) and K9 (K900) – reached 1,011,290 units as of the end of March in the US.

Since the Kia Optima made its debut in the US in Nov. 2010, the K3, K7 and K9 have been released one after another.
Sales of the Optima have continued to rise: 83,570 units in 2011, 152,399 units in 2012 and 238,953 units in 2014.
Sales of the Optima peaked last year at 248,200 units. Sales of Kia’s K-series cars surpassing the one million milestone was led by the Optima.

The Optima sold a total of 742,079 units in the 6-year period until March 2016. In November last year, the 2016 Optima 2016 was named 'Best Buy' by US auto researcher Kelley Blue Book in the mid-size car category.
