On December 9th, a plan was announced to launch a new and improved digital media platform. The New York Times and 5 other media ventures are coming together to enhance their current platform. The current digital platform's boundaries limit the text to be shown in only black and white. However, the new launched plan is to develop the color tones into brilliant graphics and animations which makes the screen more appealing and lively. By doing this, the media and communication websites will stimulate more readers.
These 6 media ventures include The New York Times, The Associated Press, News Corporation, Conda Nast Media Group, Hearst Corporation, and Miradisk Corporation which put together have over 140 million subscribers. In a combined effort, this will lead to a formal American media joint venture that strives to achieve a goal which uses technology and capital financing to attract their current readers plus other readers. The plan is considered to be a layout for a step towards color media and the support of a new and improved digital media platform.
These plan will allow these corporations to put out a platform magazine or newspaper that is converted in digital form online. This will be considered a special quality that makes the text more lively and complements the current digital media's weak points.
In addition, these media group's plan includes making episodes and video data, games, and social networking more available to connect and move forward towards the new digital platform.
An analyst stated, "Other media ventures such as Amazon, Sony, Barnes and Nobles are trying to create an e-book market to compete with this new digital platform. But before they create this venture, they are going to attempt to control this market's contents to the best of their ability. However, it will be a difficult task because people are trying not to spend money in this specific market."
