Berlin, 23 August 2016 – On 5 and 6 September, under the “Exploring the Digital Society” motto at the IFA+ Summit, experts will be revealing the latest developments in artificial intelligence, robots, virtual realities and autonomous vehicles – in other words, innovations from the smart, intelligent and connected worlds of today and tomorrow.

The opening speech at this year’s IFA+ Summit will be held by Axelle LEMAIRE, State Secretary of the French Ministry of the Economy, Industry, and Digital Sector, at 11:00 a.m. on 5 September in CityCube Berlin.
Smart technologies are altering every level of human interaction: professional, private, social and global. At the third IFA+ Summit, thought leaders and pioneers will reveal what issues and developments are currently driving the process of digital transformation.

The first IFA+ Summit session in 2016 will feature three experts talking about the latest trends in artificial intelligence, robot and drone technology and nanotechnology: Prof. Dr. Manfred Hild, Professor of Digital Systems at Beuth University of Applied Sciences in Berlin, Lukas Wrede, Founder & CEO of Skycart, and Prof. Dr. Frank Kirchner, Head of the Robotics Research Group and Speaker for the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DKFI) in Bremen.

Alastair Hayfield, Senior Manager at IHS Automotive Technology, is leading the IHS Panel on Autonomous Vehicles, where he will be discussing developments and the latest trends in autonomous driving along with Dietmar Rabel, Director Product Management, Autonomous Driving Product Portfolio, HERE, and Serkan Arslan, EMEA Director Automotive at NVIDIA.

The Smart World session is devoted to questioning what contribution smart technologies can make to pressing issues like accessibility, sustainability, and environmental protection. Industry experts such as Harald Becker, Senior Design Strategist – Office Envisioning at Microsoft, Mikko Hyppönen, Chief Research Officer at F-Secure, Prof. Dr. Manfred Hauswirth, Managing Director at Fraunhofer FOKUS, Hannes Sjoblad, Tech Activist and Bodyhacker, and Adam Sager, Founder & CEO at Canary, will be highlighting recent developments fresh out of industry labs and market-ready innovations and sharing insider perspectives on how our quality of life and indeed life itself are set to change in a smart world.

Dinesh Kithany, Principal Analyst – Hope Appliances, at IHS Technology will be analyzing the latest developments in IoT with his guests David Cronsträm, Head of Innovation/Connectivity at Electrolux, Cyril Brignone, CEO at Arrayent, and Dan Viza, Head of Smart Cooking at NXP.

In the third session of the day, Nonny de la Peña, CEO of the Emblematic Group, Prof. Dieter Gorny, Media Manager & President of the Bundesverband Musikindustrie e.V. (BVMI), Pietro Gagliano, Executive Creative Director & Partner at Secret Location, and George Bloom, Executive Producer of CBS Digital will be discussing the societal effects of mixed reality, and also what will be expected of “entertainment” in future if it is to hold users’ attention.

On the final IHS panel, Piers Harding-Rolls, Director of Games at IHS Technology, joined by Steve Jelley, Co-Founder of Hammerhead VR and Moritz von Grotthuss, CEO of gestigon GmbH, will be discussing current technologies and potential future applications for virtual reality technologies.
