Starfield Hanam -- S. Korea’s largest first-of-its-kind shopping-themed entertainment park developed jointly by South Korean retail giant Shinsegae Group and U.S.-based shopping mall operator Taubman Centers-- opened in Gyeonggi Province on September 9.
Starfield Hanam is an experiential shopping and lifestyle mall that encompasses shopping, cultural, leisure, tourism and entertainment facilities.
Its floor space totals 460,000 square meters, the largest among shopping centers in Korea. It is built on an 118,000 square-meter site in Hanam, Gyeonggi Province. What’s more, Starfield Hanam can accommodate about 6,200 vehicles simultaneously.
Starfield Hanam houses 750 brands under one roof, ranging from fashion and cosmetics to food and electronics. Starfield Hanam’s greatest strength lies in its contents. It furnishes contents that keep shoppers lingering longer and coming back.
Chung Yong-jin, vice-chairman of Shinsegae Group, said, “Starfield Hanam will show us what’s going to happen when a mega suburban shopping center, the 21st century’s new shopping platform, embodies E-Mart’s distribution know-how.”
