SKC&C held AI

SKC&C Park Jung-ho CEO invited medical doctors of large-scale domestic hospital to discuss AI 'AIbril' healthcare seminar on Nov. 4 at  the SK U-tower in Bundang, Seongnam city .
The seminar was organized to explore ways to create an eco-friendly environment in the domestic artificial intelligence healthcare industry, which grows with domestic hospitals, by opening 'the path of innovation of advisory service treating a disease using Abril’.

The seminar will include major Korean hospitals such as Seoul National University Hospital, Korea University Medical Center, Seoul Asan Medical Center and Seoul Samsung Hospital, as well as partners in the SKC& C Lee Ki-yeol executive director of digital / financial division of SK C&C. and IBM Watson Todd Kalyniuk include about 30 doctors and medical information staff attended.

In the greetings, executive director Lee received a great response from attendees by introducing the "Aibril" advisory service for various diseases to be introduced.

Attendees at the hospital said that Aibril can analyze hundreds of millions of pages of medical information, including medical papers, hundreds of medical journals and textbooks, poured tens of thousands of each year by disease
When a doctor asks his questions, "Aibril" responded well to the doctor's understanding of the intent of the question and to communicate in real-time with the doctor in a conversational way.

In fact, IBM Watson Todd Kalyniuk, a global healthcare partner, introduced the cancer treatment advisory solution 'Watson for Oncology' to understand the complex questions presented in natural language and suggest evidence-based answers do search for 15 million pages of vast amounts of medical information and offer 2-3 treatment options in a matter of seconds.

Doctors said they hoped that using artificial intelligence services would help them find treatments that take into account patient characteristics.
Even the same disease, depending on the patient's health status, lifestyle, family history, genetic information, and so on, the treatment based on the average symptom of each disease may not be effective in some patients or may cause side effects.
On the other hand, using 'Abril', it is possible to provide patient-customized medical treatment by providing meaningful data to be used in the medical treatment process among a large variety of medical big data.

Even after the seminar ended, hospital officials showed great interest in the development of the 'Aibril infectious disease service' launched by SKC&C last September, and they have been interested in cooperation.
SK C&C is planning to build an infectious disease service platform through Watson-based artificial intelligence 'Abril'. In cooperation with KU-MAGIC researchers' medical specialists (medical staff) ▲ medical treatment and research materials related to infectious diseases ▲ domestic and foreign medical papers ▲ latest infectious disease information ▲gathering the medical data and medical big data training are provided to Aibril.

"If this year was the preparation stage for introducing medical services based on artificial intelligence, SK C&C will become the first year of introducing artificial intelligence medical services next year, we will try to improve the quality of medical services by early detection, precise diagnosis and patient-customized treatment." said executive director Lee of SK C&C
