Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction said on Dec. 19 that it had signed a 1 trillion won power plant construction deal in Saudi Arabia.
In October, the state-owned oil company Saudi Aramco and Saudi Electricity Company awarded the 1 trillion won Fadhili power plant project to Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction in Dubai.
The S. Korean builder will construct a 1,519-megawatt power plant that will supply electricity to the Fadhili Gas Complex, located 85 kilometers northwest of the port of Jubail in Saudi Arabia.
Under the terms of the contract, Doosan will carry out the project as an EPC (engineering, procurement and construction) contractor who is responsible for all the activities from design, procurement and construction to trial operation and delivering a functioning facility or asset to the client. The project is scheduled for completion by the end of November 2019.
Doosan also hopes it will bag India’s Obra-C and Jawaharpur projects, worth 2.4 trillion won, this month. If Doosan won the projects, the value of deals clinched this year by Doosan could surpass 9 trillion won.
