Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute (ETRI) announced on January fourth their plan for 2010. The plan consists of pursuing the institute's goals as well as the government's goals. They will input their new IT R&D strategies to strive to become the world's top research institute. The plan consists of four main points; to unite together all the institute's departments to work as a team, establish a creative research lab that focuses on the future of technology, implement a new system that combines business and being eco-friendly, and lastly recognize the country's IT goals and helping them achieve it.
To achieve these goals, ETRI has committed to a strong 2010. They will use this situation as an opportunity and strive to improve their institute as well as improve the country's economy. They believe it starts by being a united team within the institute. To do this, they will make sure that all departments are on the same page with their tasks, duties, and goals. Also, they plan to create a creative research lab in which they can predict the next generation technology as well as help creating them. The institute will also support a "Technology Gate Keeper" which means all products will continue to be supported and receive maintenance even after it is produced. This will make sure all products will continue to be high quality as well as in good condition.
Kim Heung-nam, ETRI's director stated, "ETRI will use the New Year as an opportunity to establish ourselves as a research institute, and we will continue to pursue innovation and overcome new challenges as a research institute. We consider ETRI to be representatives of Korea's IT team, and we will continue to fulfill our obligations."
