VANCOUVER, British Columbia, Feb. 08, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE/Korea IT Times) -- The majority of Americans are not pleased with their job as nearly 7 in 10 state that they are not satisfied with their current position. A recent survey of 414 Americans conducted by VisualCV, the leading resume and portfolio creation platform with over 1.3 million members, reveals that nearly all Americans (96 percent) are open to a new opportunity while more than 60 percent are hoping to change positions in 2017. Additional data points can be found here.

With job openings hitting an all-time high in 2016 according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the outlook for 2017 is looking particularly rosy for mid- to senior-level workers. In fact, individuals are optimistic about job opportunities this year, as more than 6 out of 10 (65 percent) are excited about their career prospects this year. However, the jury is out on whether President Trump will deliver, as only slightly more than 1 in 4 (28 percent) believe that Trump will bring more jobs to America and most remain unsure of how his presidency will impact their career.

"Americans seem to feel confident about their job prospects this year and are clearly open to making a change, but the reality is that there is fierce competition for the best jobs,” said James Clift, CEO of VisualCV. “To keep up with new career opportunities and realize their goal of making a change, it is important that individuals present an impressive personal brand. This can include a resume, portfolio, and social media profiles that reflect their unique offering in the job market.”

The survey was created, distributed, and tabulated in January 2017. The data has a tolerance of +/- 5 percent.
