The recent rumors about Apple’s next generation iPhone launch in Korea were found to be true. On Jan. 13, Lee Suk-chae, the CEO of KT, responded to questions about the introduction of 4G iPhone at the social venture business meeting held in Renaissance Hotel. According to Lee, the new iPhone will be released as early as June. The testing model is expected to be available in May. However, tech analysts believe that the actual release of 4G iPhone to the public could be late as August due to the recent release of iPhone 3GS in the Korean market.
The new iPhone will have a video conferencing feature with a built-in camera installed on the front of the device. KT is planning to launch the world’s first video conferencing service for the iPhone. KT’s other services will include mobile IPTV and FMC service. To support several new features, the battery life is expected to be increased significantly.
“Since the launch of iPhone, the smart phone market has grown, and it made a great impact on wireless businesses creating more opportunities for small and mid-sized companies,” Lee emphasized, “We will continue to work with venture companies, and KT will lead the smart phone market with new devices including the iPhone.”
