The Korea Agency of Education, Promotion and Information Service in Food, Agriculture, Forestry and Fishery (EPIS) signed a MoU cooperation agreement with SEGES On March 24, the leading agricultural education and advisory organisation affiliated with the Danish Agricultural and Food Council.
In accordance with the agreement, EPIS and SEGES plan to develop joint training programmes and overseas workshops for rural youth, professional farmers, farm managers, agricultural advisers, and other stakeholders. They also plan to collaborate on promoting agricultural ICT modelling and Smart Farming technologies, as well as to share knowledge on governmental policies and projects. Based on these areas of collaboration, the two organizations as well as Denmark and Korea as a whole will aim to establish a sustainable partnership in the agricultural sector.
”Our cooperation with SEGES will focus on joint methods that can utilise the strong points of the Danish agricultural sector, such as human resource development, youth employment and start-ups, consulting, as well as ICT and Smart Farming technologies. We believe this will contribute to the increase in Korea’s competitiveness agricultural sector,” said ChulSoo Park, President of EPIS.
The signing ceremony was held last Friday at SEGES in Copenhangen, Denmark, and was attended by Anne Lawaetz Arhnung, CEO of SEGES; Kyung Ah Park, Executive Vice President of EPIS; and Jason Insu Park, Senior Innovation Officer from the Embassy of Denmark in Korea. The cooperation between the two organisations stems from the efforts of the Innovation Centre at the Embassy of Denmark, which first proposed the partnership in 2016.
