Choi, See-joong, the chairman of Korea Communication Commission (KCC), has met with Qualcomm CEO, Paul Jacobs, on Monday to discuss the potential investment in Korean companies and to build a partnership with venture companies.
Chairman Choi made a warm appreciation for Qualcomm to establish a new R&D center and investment in Korea. He asked the CEO to strengthen the collaboration with many great Korean IT venture companies through investment. In return, Paul Jacobs requested for Korean companies to help manufacturing Qualcomm’s new breakthrough display, Mirasol. He has introduced an ebook using Mirasol display and mentioned that Qualcomm is working with Samsung and LG, but looking for more partners.
KCC representative said, “Due to Qualcomm’s R&D center establishment and venture investment announcement, the relationship among Qualcomm and Korean companies are expected to grow and expand to various other industries as well.”
