The global DRAM market scale is predicted to increase by 40 percent compared to last year's scale. This prediction is according to iSuppli, an electronics research agency, which researched the global DRAM market. Starting in 2007, the DRAM market has continually been slumping and sales have been decreasing. However, these reports predict that the DRAM market will increase throughout this new year.
On February 21, 2010, iSuppli reported that that the worldwide DRAM market sales total will be approximately US$ 31.9 billion in 2010. Last year's total sales was about US$22.7 billion, which would make this year's prediction a 40.4 percent increase.
For the last three years, the DRAM's third quarter has been especially slumping. Total sales have decreased by 7.5 percent, 25.1 percent, and 3.7 percent in 2007, 2008, and 2009, respectively.
iSuppli analyst Mike Howard stated, "Last year, the DRAM market made a strong rebound in the fourth quarter. We expect that strong bounce back to continue throughout this new year."
