The Blue House finally reveals their IT convergence plan that they have been working on for two years, where it shows the roadmap for green growth and related contents that will give a promising future to Korea. The so called 'Lee Myung-bak Administration Two Years Achievement Facts and Figures' deals with a total of 12 key issues involving green growth, future preparation, weathering economic recession, and creating jobs.
It provides a blueprint for navigating green growth and lays specific 'Me First' guidelines for the public to follow. It also states that the government increased its R&D budget from roughly KRW 11 trillion to KRW 13 trillion. Against this backdrop, the MB administration is actively developing culture technology (CT), 5 main IT convergence sectors, and 17 growth engine models; combination of IT, vehicle, and textile will be further analyzed to establish a firm IT convergence ground.
Korea's software took the blame of being weak and so the government announced that it collected M&A money of worth KRW 42 billion and invested into mobile solution corporation for the use of strengthening its infrastructure for the first time. This is to lay down fair trade and heighten global competition.
Moreover, Lee Myung-bak administration's two years scope includes expanding digital broadcasting infrastructure to broaden telecommunications, increasing IPTV penetration rate, and finding new 3DTV service models. On top of that, the government formulated a comprehensive plan on establishing international science business belt.
