On February 25, 2010, TU Media and Samsung Electronics announced that they will launch a new dual DMB phone on February 26, 2010. This new dual DMB phone model SCH-W890 is capable of both T-DMB and S-DMB. S-DMB offers 36 channels including KBS, MBC, and SBS. T-DMB offers about 21 channels, so there are about 57 available channels you can watch and listen to.
Another feature included is downloadable content such as cartoons, information, weather, and education. This free service is provided by the country's first DMB 2.0 service known as "Clip Casting." Clip casting service uses wireless internet access to download contents through a radio network which is known as "TU Town."
Lee Chul Hui, TU Media's marketing director stated, "Once this dual DMB phone is launched, we are anticipating expansions of the service areas. The dual DMB phone's excellence in practicality and usefulness will become the new foundation for the DMB market and will provide a new trend for this year. We are expecting a huge response."
