2010 G-Trade Global Export Fair Invites Global Companies to Promote Gyeonggi Province's Major Products

Gyeonggi Province and Gyeonggi Small & Medium Business Center (GSMB) held the '2010 G-Trade Global Export Fair' at Suwon IBIS Ambassador Hotel on March 5. The event was scheduled the day after 'Buy Korea 2010' as a continuous effort to bring more potential global buyers to Gyeonggi Province. Ninety companies from 23 different countries were invited to have meetings with approximately 400 small and medium size companies in the Province. Gyeonggi Province's major products include IT/Electronics, LED, security, auto parts, medical equipment/BT, machinery, and construction. Last year, Gyeonggi Province had the '2009 G-Trade Global Export Fair' with 93 companies from 28 countries and a total of US$9.23 million worth of contracts. A GSMB's officials said, "We initially had a plan to invite around 50 buyer companies, but the request was overwhelming so we expanded to 90 companies. We would like to invite more buyers in the future, which will provide more opportunities for small and medium businesses in the Gyeonggi Province."

Casa Solar - Guatemala

Casa Solar has pioneered the solar energy system in Guatemala. The representative of Casa Solar, Osvaldo Pérez, said, "Currently, we are at the early stage of solar energy system implementation, but we see excellent potential in this field. I believe Korea has great technology in solar energy compared to other countries." He went on to say, "This is my first time to visit Korea and to see Korean solar system technology, which is a lot more advanced than what I expected. Many companies offered me the large scale system, but I am looking for small scale products and solutions considering the small Guatemalan market. I had great meetings with several Korean companies who offered many interesting products. I believe KOTRA organized this event very well and I wish to come back for future events."

Samel 90 PLC - Bulgary

Samel 90 PLC is the main supplier for electronic communication devices to Bulgarian Army and the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Bulgaria. Also the company handles civil business with LED lights for architecture. The deputy managing director, Aneta Pefuova, stated, "Korea has good quality products with a reasonable price. European companies offer many similar products, but the price is high. China has low prices, but the quality is unreliable. That is why I came to Korea, to look for products that we need for our business. I had meetings with several Korean companies with many interesting products, but we have not made any contracts, yet."

 

Martin McCormick, Director of Basson and Co.

Basson and Co. - Britain

Another buyer present at G-Trade Global 2010 was Martin McCormick; director of Basson and Co. Bassan and Co. manufactures CCTV products. At this event, he was seeking quality LED lighting so he can improve the light efficiency for his cameras. This event provided an opportunity for him to improve his products through the help of certain Korean companies. He stated, "Korea has many cutting-edge technologies and considers many of them top quality."

This was his first time to attend G-Trade Global, but he is familiar with many Korean products and companies. His company currently does business with the Korean company HDPro, which provides quality products. He added by saying, "I am very satisfied with this event and I plan to comeback next year.

 

Jay Park, Vice President of Barja

Barjan - United States

Another buyer present for G-Trade Global 2010 was Jay Park, vice president of Barjan. Barjan Co. is a general product supplier and manufacturer for travel centers, such as Pilot, TA, Loves, BP, and Shell. It is stationed in the United States and is the largest supplier for the U.S. and Canada's. Some of their products include CV radio antennas, GPS, electronic products, LCD built microphones, and cargo safety products. Jay Park was present at this event seeking innovated high tech products. One specific product he was looking for was an automotive blackbox.

At this event, he met with many Korean companies, but was only interested in GPS products and blackboxes. He came to this event without a budget limit, but stated that he is a willing buyer if the product meets his requirements. Overall, he enjoyed the event and plans to be here next year.

WAN LEE TRADING Co., LTD - Taiwan

Jason Luan, Builders Hardware Department Manager of WAN LEE TRADING company visited the G-Trade Global 2010 exhibition to find competitive and innovative products from Korean small and medium enterprises. He said, "This is my second time to visit Korea. Fortunately, the first time I visited Korea, I found a suitable company that sold digital door locks from Hyundai Metal, which really helped my company. If I find suitable products, I want to go into a partnership with them same as Hyundai Metal."

Zinovev Vladimir, General Manager of AlphaTech Plus

AlphaTech Plus - Russia

Zinovev Vladimir, General Manager of AlphaTech Plus company, which is one of the leading companies for printing in Russia. Also AlphaTech has partnerships with global companies such as Epson and Hewlett Packard. He said, "I am particularly interested in Korean printing machines, printer ink, plastic cards, and magnetic cards. I surely want to find a reliable company without fail." He continued to say, "I hope we continue to make prosperous relationships throughout G-Trade Global 2010."
